Microchips

We now have the 24 Hour Pet Watch Microchip available for patrons, rescue groups, staff, and board members. The exciting feature of this microchip is that it is read by most scanners, offers free registration and owner/address changes, and contacts owners every 11 months to update the database.

All pets adopted from HSWC will automatically come with a microchip. Even if you didn't adopt your pet from us, you can have your pet microchipped at our monthly vaccination clinics for a great price! (See our fee schedule for current pricing.)

Microchipping is a good way to identify your pet in case it is lost or stolen. Unlike a regular collar, a microchip can not fall off or be taken off. Your pet can be identified by any vet, shelter, or animal control officer who has a microchip scanner. The chip will give them your contact information - making it easier for them to reach you and return your pet. Microchips are inexpensive, painless, and permanent.
