2005 Events

The HSWC is able to save animals because of community efforts like these! If you are interested in joining our animal-loving ranks, please check out our Volunteer page for more information.

Our major events in 2005 included the Spring Fling Mutt Strut, the Pet by Petwest Music Festival, and the Dog Leg Classic Golf Tournament - click to view all the photos and read more about these fun events.

12/29/2005: AUSTIN MODELS AND TALENT PHOTOGRAPHY DAY

Pictured below are the members of the Austin Models and Talent Agency who came out in a big way to help the animals at the HSWC! Not only did they bring in donations for the animals, but their expert photographers and eager helpers volunteered to take photos of the dogs and cats awaiting adoption for the Petfinder website. Two of the volunteers even fell in love with some of the animals they were taking pictures of and went home with new furry family members. One of those lucky animals was Vladimir (pictured below), who found a forever home with Volunteer Jeff. What a group! Thanks so much!! Check out the agency’s website at www.AustinModelsAndTalent.com.

12/18/2005: SANTA CLAWS PHOTOS AT PETSMART

Do you know what your furry friend wants for Christmas? Santa Ed knows! He has a long list of rawhides and catnip to deliver after visiting with animals at PETsMART Santa Claws Photos. Santa Ed is not just making your pets happy; he’s also making the HSWC animals happy. Part of the proceeds from the FIVE Santa Claws Photo events that HSWC volunteers staffed will go to the shelter animals.

A Huge Thank You to all the great Santas and Santa's Helpers that volunteered at all FIVE of our of our Santa Claws events! Pictured are Santa and his helpers, Rebecca, Derrek, and Tammy.

7/27/05: DELL DIAMOND

Thanks to our friends at News8 Austin for sponsoring a pet food and pet supply drive at the Dell Diamond!
Thanks to the generosity of Round Rock Express fans, volunteers spent the evening collecting much needed supplies and food for the shelter. In the left photo are some people who donated, and in the right photo are some of our volunteers.

5/14/05: WOOFSTOCK

Woofstock was a fundraiser sponsored by Groovy Dog Bakery to raise money for animal welfare groups in the area. HSWC had a booth at the event and will receive some of the proceeds. At the event, we micro-chipped 23 animals and adopted three kittens! In addition, our raffle earned $400 for the shelter. The raffle included 9 donated gift certificates from local restaurants and an animal hospital, valued at $290. The winner of the raffle was Bobbie Myers. Ms. Myers was incredibly generous and donated back the raffle prize to the shelter.
