Thank you for your generosity and concern for the animals!
My name is Baxter and I’m here to tell you a story about how the kind and caring people at the Humane Society of Williamson County saved my life. I may only be 7 months old, but I have endured a lot in my short life and wanted to share my story.
I grew up with a family that I thought I could always call my own. Then, unexpectedly, my family took me for a ride in their car (I thought we were going to the park to play fetch) and drove me to a local shelter. Being young and naïve, it was very frightening. Suddenly I was surrounded by loud noises, dogs barking and concrete walls. I kept thinking that if I waited long enough, my family would return. But alas, as the minutes rolled into hours and the hours rolled into days, it became clear…I was on my own.

I was in a lot of pain from a severe burn running all the way down my back and there was nowhere comfortable to rest. While in the shelter, strange people kept coming by and staring at me, but no matter how friendly and social I was, they kept on walking. Then suddenly, when I thought all was lost, the Humane Society of Williamson County came and took me away. They gave me a home, love, lots of terrific toys and most of all…hope! It’s been a long recovery process and my wound requires daily medical attention. I even spent a week staying at the Brodie Animal Hospital where caring doctors and staff tended to my every need. While I know healing will take time, each day is less painful than the day before and I am optimistic that I will live a full and healthy life.
I am very fortunate that people reached out to help me when I could not help myself. However, I know that my medical care has been and will continue to be expensive…and I am not alone. There are many other dogs and cats at the Humane Society of Williamson County also in need of medical attention. Your kind and generous donations to the Abby Angel Fund can help all of us live better lives. Your generous donation can not only save a life…it can make a difference in the quality of life of every animal you support. If it were not for you…I would not be here today.
Love and Best Wishes,
Baxter

Meet Bently, an Abby Angel Fund beneficiary. Bently is a gorgeous year and a half old English Setter. He came to the HSWC in need of hip surgery for a degenerative bone condition. Bently is a happy, loving dog that would make a wonderful addition to any family. He loves children, cats and other dogs. He also loves to cuddle in bed.
Bently is currently in foster care due to his medical condition. There is a possibility for more surgery in his future and Bently will need rehabilitation after his surgery. Through our Abby Angel Fund, we are asking for assistance with Bently’s medical care. Please help Bently to become the amazing dog that he is meant to be.
